Of Ash and Steel mixes stance combat, exploration without quest markers, and survival mechanics. You play Tristan, a cartographer; stamina, timing, and navigation are key.

Exploration is old-school: follow NPC directions and landmarks. A map item appears later—you annotate it yourself.

Combat has three stances (Windborne, Vigil, Cataclysm). Stamina governs every action; observe patterns and pick safe openings.

Progression: allocate attributes, find trainers, and pick a permanent faction. Craft blades/guards/hilts, manage hunger/thirst/fatigue, and expect the world to react to your choices.
